Curated by Shauna Burke, \"Plan B\" is an Art Statement to raise money and awareness for Planned Parenthood and issues surrounding a person's right to make decisions for their own body. For this project each artist may choose from a small Amphora bottle, in silver or Bronze each bottle is 1\"- 1.5\". The artists may then do whatever they please with the small vessel to re-envision it with their personal voice.. (Think of the bottle as a blank canvas). The vessels will tour several galleries before ending up in Jewelry Week in NYC.

Nicole joins us for a solo exhibition featuring five pieces. Each piece is comprised of an enamel frame encompassing a laser etched piece of mica. This is then set forward in front of a graphic print so that the light passes through the mica and creates a moving story. Nicole uses augmented reality to tell a story through these pieces, allowing the user to use their phone to view videos and an entirely new perspective on her work.

She received her BA from Indiana University in 1991 and her first MFA in 1994 from The University of Michigan. In 2001 she returned to RMIT University and completed her Ph.D. in Fine Arts in 2004. Her doctoral research focused on integrating Computer-Aided Design, Computer-Aided Machining, and Rapid Prototyping & Machining (CAD, CAM, RP&M) within a contemporary studio practice. Jacquard was awarded a second Fulbright in 2017-18 to Scotland where her research focused on the incorporation of augmented reality into her work.
Nicole was President of the Society of North American Goldsmiths serving two terms from 2015 - 17, and from 2017- 19. She has had ten solo exhibitions and participated in over 100 invitational/juried exhibitions in the USA, Europe, Asia + Australia. Her work is in the collection of the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemet Hungary, and the Riga Porcelain Museum in Riga, Latvia. Nicole has presented over 45 lectures on her work + and has had papers accepted to present at conferences in the UK, Australia, China, + the USA. On one hand, we have blossoming flowers, birds flying and lively insects. And on the other, we have the macabre, with imagery that confronts death. The aim is to illustrate how multi-faceted death is. It can be poetic, even sublime, and at the very same time, bleak and depressing.

About the artist:
Pat Flynn is a goldsmith who lives and works in High Falls, New York. His iconic nail bracelets combine blackened iron with 22 karat and 18 karat yellow gold, 18 karat palladium white gold, diamonds and pearls. His larger cuff bracelets incorporate hinges and box clasps that not only suit functionality for the wearer, but display meticulous craftsmanship.
Each piece of jewelry is hand forged by Pat, often times incorporating fused 22 karat gold onto the iron. Pat is a master of subtle texture, working the surface with varying tools from the hammer and graver, to etching and filing. This attention to detail, technical control, and combination of disparate materials creates unparalleled elegance in his jewelry.
Pat’s work has been featured in Metalsmith magazine and, most recently included in the Penland Book of Jewelry. His work can also be found in the collections of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institute, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum of Art & Design in New York. His work has most recently been acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC.
