Founded by Betsy Nathan in 1997, PAGODA RED is a gallery of rare antiquities, vintage curiosities and contemporary art & objects. The collection is curated in a vast early 20th c. bow truss space in Bucktown, a destination for collectors, designers and people who love to explore and discover.

Jay Taylor is a musician and urban farmer. As a special education teacher in Chicago for the past 10 years, Jay understands that he must meet each person he works with right where they are in their consciousness. Through the use of the gong, crystal bowls, shakers, voice, and guitar, Jay takes participants on a Sound Voyage that results in the total relaxation of the physical body, re-tuning of the energetic body, and the release of accumulated heavy energy. Violinist Arianne Urban is a Chicago based freelance musician and is an active solo, chamber, and orchestral player. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across the world, ranging from sold out rock shows in Tokyo to Chamber Festivals in Italy. Urban is a regular member of the Nu Deco Ensemble in Miami, FL, as well as an active collaborator with recording artists, arrangers and producers working in film and session work. The newest body of work by Toyoharu Kii explores rebirth and the cycle of life.
A leader of the cross-cultural craft resurgence, Japan-based artist Toyoharu Kii creates his intricate mosaics with hand-cut Italian marble and smalti, Venetian glass made by the same Italian family for over 400 years. Using traditional Italian techniques, Kii’s art is nonetheless modern. Monochromatic, abstract, and highly textured, his work highlights the involved and technical art of mosaic making.

The dreamlike works by artist Almudena Rodriguez are unlike anything you’ve seen. Mediums, languages and cultural iconography meld and crescendo in her Pymalion Effect series.
By extracting images, logos and slogans from popular culture, Rodriguez layers disparate notions to distance us from our assumptions and help us reflect about who we are and what we believe in. In Pygmalion Effect, the artist explores the popular psychological idea that greater expectations lead to better performance, questioning how an artist can influence the viewer’s perception.

Immersive Listening Experience with Catieooooooo
A series of multi-media paintings by London-based artist Issy Wilson, Boundary Layer explores the liminal space between earth and air, an overlooked micro-ecosystem where moss cultivates its own conditions for survival. A pioneer species that can shape its surroundings, moss challenges the idea of borders as impenetrable and attests to the impact of quiet perseverance. Dwelling in the boundary layer, mosses are living tapestries with porous and continually renegotiated borders.
In a moment when political and social systems increasingly seek to solidify borders and regulate movement, moss suggests an alternative—one rooted in permeability, mutual support, and resilience.
Each Boundary Layer work is inspired by London in winter, where mosses emerge as vivid interruptions to misty tones of gray and brown. Dotting the urban landscape like small, forested worlds, the moss bejewels its stark surroundings with moments of color and softness. Even in conditions of constraint, moss continues to thrive, reshape its surroundings, and create new possibilities for growth.
Wilson’s paintings symbolize resilience without spectacle, adaptability without erasure, and resistance without domination. Her quiet landscapes remind us that transformation is possible, even when it occurs slowly and in overlooked spaces.
