It is free and open to all! By the way, the space is immediately north of the CTA Brown Line Sedgwick Station - in a live/work sculpture studio. The entrance is in the alley! We will have a great way-finding installation to lead people to the event.

From Edgebrook to Morgan Park, from the Lakefront to West Garfield Park,
Chicago residents to enjoy large-scale public art.

Chicago Sculpture Exhibit (CSE), now celebrating its 18th year of
providing exciting, contemporary art to Chicago neighborhoods has just
completed the final installation of a record 58 sculptures. Local, national and
international artists help beautify Chicago streets to the delight of residents,
visitors and tourists. The yearly parade of trucks and cranes traveling around
city streets to remove the previous year’s sculptures and install current works is
complete. To celebrate the completion, a Kick-Off party is scheduled for Friday,
June 28th at Sedgwick Studio (1544 N Sedgwick) from 6 – 9 PM and is open to
all. The CSE motto “Admission is Free” also applies to the Kick-Off.

Contributing to this year’s exhibit are local, national and international artists.
Some of Chicago’s best-known artists, including Terrence Karpowicz, John
Adduci, Ruth Aizuss Migdal and Ted Sitting Crow Garner are represented.
Among the national artists, you’ll find Christopher Thomson from New Mexico,
Jack Howard-Potter from New York and Sunghee Min from Minnesota. Patricia
Corredor-Canon makes her debut from Bogota, Colombia.

CSE is juried by Board members and sponsors or their representatives,
ensuring community partners are taking part in the selection process. CSE
sponsors include individuals, neighborhood organizations, cultural institutions
and corporations, both large and small.

The sculptures included in the 2019 show will remain on display through May of
2020. All artworks are for sale at the conclusion of the show with a small
percentage of each sale supporting the work of CSE.

This year’s Kick-Off party will include a unique way-finding installation. The
celebration takes places on Friday, June 28th from 6-9 PM at Sedgwick Studio,
1544 N Sedgwick – immediately north of the CTA Sedgwick Brown Line station
(entry is through the red door on the alley). Attendees will enjoy a video
presentation of the installation process, be the first to obtain brochures with a
full map of all 58 sculptures, a limited-edition poster, and food and beverages.
Artists and sponsors attend along with friends and supporters.
