Lozano’s mixed media wall pieces interrupt perceptions of value and of cultural aesthetics, featuring reconstructed or altered familiar forms such as papel picado (cut paper) banners or milagros (votives). His work employs a variety of techniques and references to ultimately challenge tropes of ethnicity, queerness, desire, and masculinity.

Now and Then | David Lozano will be exhibited in the Second Floor Gallery of the Art Center.
