Intuit Art Museum (IAM) champions the diverse voices of self-taught art, welcoming both new and familiar audiences. Located in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood, Intuit is a premier museum of self-taught art. IAM collects and exhibits work by artists who often work outside the mainstream due to societal, economic, or geographic barriers that have prevented them from pursuing formal training in the arts. Yet, they have developed a sustained artistic practice. The museum’s mission is grounded in the ethos that the instinct to create is universal, and the arts must embrace, represent and be accessible to all.
Explore our special exhibitions, the Intuit Art Museum permanent collection and an evocation of artist Henry Darger’s studio apartment. Alongside exhibitions focused on self-taught art, we invite you to discover new ways of connecting with creativity.
Throughout the year, Intuit Art Museum hosts talks, performances, film screenings, workshops and other interactive experiences in our Center for Learning and Engagement (CLEO), our galleries and the Learning Studio for you to dive deeper into art at the Museum.
New things are always happening at IAM. Visit our website to view the full calendar of events.

Ready to be represented as the superhero you are? Six talented Project Onward artists will create one-of-a-kind superhero portraits of you on the spot. They include Ruby Bradford, Stephon Doby, Jackie Cousins, George Zuniga, Luke Shemroske and Mariah Smith.
This event is presented in collaboration with Project Onward, a leader in the field of disability arts. They offer artists a safe and supportive studio environment, connect them with the arts community and the public, and inspire change by using art to foster empathy and challenge the stigma surrounding mental illness and developmental disabilities.
